Everyday EMS with Greg Friese: Oxygen Therapy and Respiratory Pathogens

Non-rebreather masks are a physical barrier to viruses contained in droplets, but they don’t filter the patient’s exhaled air. The FLO2 Max Filtered Oxygen Therapy Mask available from www.allmed.net filters the patient’s exhaled air.

Jim, Thanks for watching the video and taking time to comment. Until seeing this product I had never really considered the limitations of the NRB to limit dispersion of droplets. Would you replace NRB masks with this product or just used the FLO2 for patient's that meet specific criteria?

Hey Greg Another great item from Allmed. I cant tell you how many times I have seen providers use a NRB thinking it was protecting them from airborne droplets. I guess it's was better than nothing but with this product, the problem is solved. Now I have to get my agency on board to order them :) Jim
